Getting to London PDF Print E-mail

After a morning in Glasgow, the time for our flight to London arrived, so we took the GlasgowFlyer back to the Glasgow airport. Since we already had tickets, and no check in, we just went through security and waited. There is a place to eat a light lunch in the airport.

I had booked EasyJet, which was about 65 Pounds per person one way. Why just one way?  I'll explain in a later post. EasJet has no assigned seats, so if you want to sit with a friend, better get in line early. We boarded the jet out on the tarmac, with a front and back door entrance. Getting seats was a free-for-all and some people had quite large carry ons, so try to get in first! The flight is short, and once in to London, it is easy to jump on to the subway. I bought Oyster cards for both of us, which work on all the public transport. The London underground charges fees by the area you are travelling in, with closer to the city centre being more expensive.

After some basic security, but before the big check and the boarding, there is an food court in the airport. It is not cheap, but not super expensive (like most airports). No big brands here, but rather simple locally run stands, which worked for my wife and I just fine. NOTE: The date on my camera was WRONG! This should be summer, 2009.
